Brutal Cuddlers Grappling (B.C.G.) exists for athletes who show up and refuse to quit no matter what is thrown their way on and off the mats. Built for perserverance and the reality of hard training, B.C.G. focuses on gear designed for grapplers with an unkillable nature.
Our History
The project that eventually became B.C.G. began in 2023 with an early concept known as Unholy Jiu-Jitsu. As the idea developed and the brand identity evolved, the project was later rebranded in late 2023 under the name Brutal Cuddlers, where original apparel concepts, artwork and designs were created and released to the grappling community.
Brutal Cuddlers Co-Owner Jim Govea, who is currently operating Brutal Cuddlers Grappling, is the original designer and creator of the Brutal Cuddlers name, design, logos and artwork associated with its early releases.
Like many grassroots combat sports brands, the project grew through collaboration, experimentation and the support of athletes who believed in the vision.
Current Status
There is currently ongoing litigation regarding ownership and business matters related to the prior Brutal Cuddlers project. Because of this dispute, Jim Govea has chosen to move forward under a new, distinguished identity: Brutal Cuddlers Grappling.
B.C.G. operates independently with new logos and branding elements created specifically for a relaunch while maintaining the original aesthetic we know and love. This approach ensures that future products are clearly distinguished from any currently disputed material and helps prevent confusion within the grappling community.
Moving Forward
B.C.G. is focused on what matters most: building gear for grapplers who never back down.
The mission is and always has been the same:
